In a nutshell, my friend and I had a wonderful time on the Destiny. This is my 2nd sailing with Carnival (Inspiration), I also traveled with Royal Caribbean (Jan, 2009) and Holland America (2004). I also want to mention that is was my experience. Others on the same ship would have different experiences based on who they encountered, problems and so on.

I was nervous when going on the ship after reading the reviews. But it seems as 1 previous reviewer stated "If you don't have any problems, you will have a great time." That was our case. I can't talk for those who had room problems, I just told my friend "as long as we get our luggage, the bathroom works and we don't get locked out on the balcony, it will be a great time."

TRANSFERS: Our only issues were the transfer service. Very disorganized for us. When we got into Fort Lauderdale we got a number for the transfer bus. I then noticed people leaving and asked the "Carnival rep" who was right in front of me if I was to go with the large group. She mumbled yes. That was a sign right there. Not to bore you, but things went in a similar fashion all the way until we got inside the ship. Same thing when we got off the ship and onto the bus. Driver dropped us off at a Terminal, but didn't tell us anything about our flight and "airline X goes to Terminal 3, airline Z goes to Terminal 2.." Good thing my friend and I had 3 hours to kill in FLL.
