The Carnival Victory has an itinerary unique to the line (although it seems Royal Caribbean has a similar one). There were two embarcation ports. Americans and Canadians boarded in San Juan and Europeans in Barbados. This created a mix of cultures including British, Canadians, hispanics, and many other ethnic groups. I see some reports of rudeness, I did not experience this, I found everyone quite friendly. Because of the number of hispanics, a special effort appeared to have been made for the public staff to be bi-lingual english and spanish.

In general it was a typical Carnival cruise. Some major disappointments were that the internet only worked in public areas (we were able to use it in our stateroom on the Liberty) and the navigational information station was never correct.

One other dissapointment was the lack of participation in the ship's games such as trivia and even the texas holdem table didn't get going until late in the cruise.

Cabin Review

We had a mid-ship balcony cabin on the 8th floor. It was a typical layout, sufficiently comfortable. TV remote didn't work which was annoying but otherwise all was fine.
