I've read reviews for our cruise that elegantly stated the weather conditions and the quality of the food and shows but below are my impressions as well.
We arrived at the pier around 1pm. At that time, all lines were open to general check-in. So, even though we were all in Mini Suites, we waited an hour from getting in line to being on the ship. Plus we had trainee reservations working our check in, so every time there was an issue, and there were issues, they had to find a supervisor. That was not a good start to the trip. We had one in our group that needed food and there weren't even cookies or crackers offered to those in line. I have waited in long lines for other cruise lines where orange juice was offered while waiting. But here, nothing
We found the Jean Ann Ryan troupe to be extremely talented. It was felt that the wait staff in the main dining rooms to be a little less attentive than the ones in the specialty dining rooms. Still, even saying that, in Le Bistro, the waiter did not bring one of the appetizers so we all had to wait to continue our meal until that was brought out. All in all, the staff there was slow. We liked dining, but that was just TOO slow for our liking.
We did use a separate tour operator for our shore excursions. We used Shore Trips. They in turn used King David Tours in Mazatlan for our Horseback Riding tour on Stone Island. It was GREAT! Elise met us at the appointed area off the pier. It was just my friend and myself in her whole group that day. She was a great guide and we had a wonderful ride. Most of the ride was on the beach. She allowed running the horses, which is not always found on these types of tours! Well worth the cost of the trip! The restaurant we ended up at on the beach was great too! Yummy food!
We went on a zip line tour in Puerto Vallarta, again arranged by Shore Trips. It was fantastic. Would do that again...anytime!
Weather is not controllable, you get what you get. For the most part, it was great.
Would I do this trip again? Probably.
