This was our 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean and 5th cruise overall and the smoothest sailing we have experienced.
We stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn at the Port in Miami. It is the closest hotel to the port. It is directly across from the Bayside Marketplace with several shops and restaurants.
Although we stayed at the hotel the current taxi rate is $24 flat rate from the airport to the cruise port. The taxi fare from the hotel to the port is $12 flat rate.
We are Platinum Crown and Anchor members, but did not have to take advantage of the special line when we checked in around 1PM. We went right through the line with a smooth check in and were able to go to our cabin and check it out before we went up to the Windjammer for lunch.
The room was clean. The only issue with the cabin was the mildewed smell of the shower curtain.
Our Cabin Steward, Irvin, kept the room neat and clean despite our habit of living out of suitcases on shorter cruises. The ice bucket was kept full and we were allowed to use the minibar fridge for our soft drinks and were not charged for anything.
We used the queen bed option and found the bedding and mattresses comfortable. Being in a Junior Suite the room had a sleeper sofa which was used only for storage.
The ship overall was well maintained.
Being a very early morning exerciser required the use of Deck 12 which has some tricky areas and is a relatively short course (about 0.25 mile), but is usable as there is a sign that you should not use the 7th deck track from 10AM-10PM. Did not use the exercise room at the spa on this trip.
We used the Anytime Dining option at the dining room on two nights. We were able to walk in and get a table on both of those nights. The other two nights were at the Windjammer. The food was well above average on all occassions. Lunches were primarily ashore except at embarkation. Breakfast at the Windjammer was as always a filling experience with good food. Despite using Anytime Dining the dining room staff was attentive and relatively prompt.
The evening entertainment was good. We did not do any of the late night activities.
Overall our experience on the Majesty of the Seas was incredibly enjoyable. We enjoyed our best cruising weather on this trip with no rain, all sun, and the smoothest seas we have had.
In Nassau we did a day at the Atlantis with shallow water dolphin experience. We were able to be with the dolphins for about 45 minutes and spend the rest of the day in the waterscapes which are fantastic.
Coco Cay we rested and snorkeled. The snorkelling was excellent. The beach is well maintained and the lunch provided by the cruise lines was good.
Key West was spent walking around after we arrived late due to an overnight medical emergency. It is a fun place to walk. The bars are quite fun even early in the day. The cemetary on the island is quite interesting and worth a trip.
This was a great cruise experience.
