Century Five Star ?
Sailed Celebrity for the first time, I must say the cabin we had best grade window on deck 9 was excellent and the service as usual in the cabin some of the best we have experienced. Beware of window cabins next to the last balcony on deck 8 and 9 as they are sold as unobstructed.... they are obstrucred where the refit has included balconies there is a grab rail that extends the last bacony and ends in the centre of the window of this room. Also the view is obstructed by a frosted panel which can be seen that ends the last balcony.

The room service was excellent never had to wait long, and there was always a flask of fresh water and ice regularly changed.

The entertainment, must say I am never totaly impressed by on board entrtainment but this was awful, poor costumes which looked as if they were made themselves and the singers singing mimed not live.

The speacialist dining experience was certainly no patch on P&O but was an enjoyabe evning as we did not know what awaited in the main restaurant. We had the specialist dining on the first night when we went into the main dining room we discovered our table had been changed, we ended up on a table of 8 the table size was a 6, the other passengers were Dutch and only 1 spoke english, the table next to us had 8 very young children who were running around the table and laying on the floor and shouting. We had the Assistant waiter only on our table we started our meal at 9:45 and did not finish until 11:15.

Must say the Maitre De went out of his way to put things right and changed our table. Sitting in the dinning room was alike sitting in a BHS cafe with the noise level so high it was difficult to have a reasonable conversation across a table, there must have been a lack of waiters as they were totally rushed. The eating experience was not enjoyable it was good to eat and get out, the quality of food however was great, the steaks were very tender.

The wine choice extremely poor, if you liked USA wines plenty to choose from little or no choice of New Zealand or Chile.

The formal nights were a formal night by name only allowing passengers in the main dining room with shirts hanging out of trousers, no jacket or tie worn, is it not a wonder that the standards are slipping if these passengers are not told to go to the buffet dining, when others make an effort.

The Buffet dining in the dining room is very restrictive, if you have been on a tour and arrive back at the ship after 2pm the only choice is hot dogs burgers or pizza.

We decided on this cruise for the places it visited some are not listed here we also went to Livorno our most enjoyable tours were Pisa, Closium and Vatican, Florence, Capri, Sorrento,Pompeii and the so called reputation of Celebrity, the places we visited were excellent as were the tours we choose, I would not rush back to this ship
