Ship Facts: Celebrity Infinity Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Infinity Deck Plans
Happy 60 Douglas! One Great Cruise!
My husband and I have been on 14 cruises. This was our seventh on X. We have always given them an excellent on all before this.

We stayed at the Westin in Seattle. Great hotel! Great price from hotwire! Lost our extra day in Seattle because we were delayed in Atlanta. Had it been cruise day we would have missed the boat! Did the Duck tour at 9 am that we booked on line , lots of fun, back to the hotel for our bags and on the ship before noon.

Embarkation went smoothly, had done all the paperwork online before we left home so just showed our passport and credit card & we were on our way. Our cabin 7112 has not been recarpeted yet. It was very clean but needed new carpet because of the fading. You could see when the doors were open that they were putting new carpet in the rooms coming down the hall. The bedding was more comfortable when our big suitcases were under the bed. Have slept on more comfortable bedding. Ship was in very good shape. Saw a pallet or two of flat screens coming on board at one of the ports so my assumption is they must be upgrading the TVs. We were happy with the ship as a whole.

There were a lot of activities. My husband really enjoyed the guest lecturers. A lot of people must have because they moved the presentation to the theater because of the crowds. Lots to choose from for activities.

Service was great in the dining room. We couldn't have asked for better service there. Leone, the hotel manager, is excellent in her job. She was always around talking to passengers and is so nice. Margaret the event coordinator did a good job too. Allan King is one of the best cruise directors. I don't think the man ever slept. He seemed to be everywhere all the time. Our room steward gets a B. He just wasn't up to X standards. I've been spoiled too many other times by X's great room stewards. We did all our own prearranged excursions with friends from roll call. They all came out well. We took the HOHO bus that we booked online in San Diego. That worked out well. We had a private car for a tour in Cabo and a nice lunch in a local restaurant.

Rosie was our tour guide in Acapulco. She was great! Saw the city and another great local lunch. Really enjoyed our tour as we hadn't really gone sightseeing in Acapulco for 20 years.

In Huatulco we walked for a while and then had one of the little boats give us an hour tour. Lots to see! Huatulco is beautiful! We recommend the small boat hour rides. They are very safety conscious.

In Costa Rica we went with Charlie and did the croc tour and then took the tram over the rain forest. Second time with Charlie. He gives great tours.

We stayed on the ship going through the Canal and marveled one more time at the wonder that it is.

In Cartagena, Colombia we toured with Claudia. She gave us a great historical tour and we all felt safe. Lots of peddlers who accepted a firm no gracias as we walked by as a signal to leave us alone. It was really hot! We were happy to get back to the ship!

The buffet wasn't bad. It could have been kept warmer. The eggs benedict station(didn't know there that many ways to serve a form of eggs benedict), the sushi, the afternoon (4 to 5) tea sandwiches and desserts, the waffles with fresh fruit and real whipped cream, the stir fry, the asian station, the omelet station, the paninis, the ice cream were all excellent! You needed to ask to have your pizza reheated. Sometimes pasta was soggy.

The grill was great! They would even make little steaks for you. The chips and guac were wonderful! The Bistro, casual restaurant in the evening at the back of the buffet area, was set up beautifully. Great service, excellent food!

The dining room food left a lot to be desired. New shrimp cocktail is 3 medium shrimp on top of a lettuce and tomato salad. My husband used to get a shrimp cocktail every night, got only one on this cruise. They seem to have downgraded their quality of food.

There was a lot of discussion about it on the ship. They need to work on the menus and the food quality. However there was enough of a choice on the ship so one never had to go hungry. Dining room food at best was mediocre. Food in the United States specialty restaurant was excellent!

Entertainment was very good! There was something for everybody! Best cruise ship entertainment we've seen!

Long time to disembark. There was some kind of customs problem. We were supposed to get off at 9:15 and finally just walked off around 11:30 without waiting for our group to be called. Found our luggage and we were on our way.

Best cruise critic group ever! Great cruise! Hope Celebrity fixes their dining room problems before our TA next year.
