What can I say, after reading about 23 reviews,18 of which describe the Musica cruise to Brazil was a nightmare, we thought thismay have been a one off, and we were determined to approaach our cruise with an open mind and search for positives. Well we started well, having been upgraded to outside cabin. The anticipated nightmare online checkin system, for us was brilliant and we were on board within 30 mins(although it was 11-30am and well before most flights arrived). The ship was beautifully appointed as expected, cabins fine and there the positives end!!except for the staff - they were mainly Indonesian and very similar to cruise staff generally, willing, friendly, helpful and very good (surprising how four words of Indinesian helps)Oh! and the house wine at E8 per 1/2 carafe was quite drinkable, Oh! and the sunbeds are brilliant. Within first day on board we didn't receive a daily activity sheet and when we finally got one from a friend on board at 5pm thereby missing a meeting and almost missing the compulsary lifeboat drill, also missing the correct dining arrangements and were 45 mins late for our first evening meal. This paucity of informationon further impending ports of call or helpful local info (taxi costs - distances into town - town maps etc)which we have always received on previous cruises. Expensive drinks e.g.E6-90 for gin and tonic. Further mistake Santorini and MYkonos, two calls in one day neither having enough time to do either one of them in comfort. ENTERTAINMENT;- theatre shows ok within the confines that several different nationalities prexsents, acrobats outstanding, choreography boring. BUT thelounge shows etc were positively infantile. Think crackerjack. THE italians are seemingly unable to allow an entertainer to perform without constant interference to encourage the audience to cheer etc.MUSICA in various venues ok.ANNOUCEMENTS in five languages would be much better by being more brief- is there such a word in Italian for concise.FOOD- wouldn't you think a nice pizza would be the norm on an Italian ship-not on Musica. Well you wouldn't starve but overall the food is 2star desserts abysmal-probably choice of three. I've tried to be constructive and i don't care if I pay for water and coffee at dinner, but 2 star is where its at. Excursions are smilar to other cruise lines but the final nail in the coffin came after booking the E35 airport trip on disembarcation to include a few hours in Venice St Marks Square without the hindrance of luggage, about dozen people were returned to the cruise terminal and left to find their suitcases where we all wandered around walking about 3kms really, in 30deg and getting varying directions from various staff. A map included with the tickets would have made so much difference. Italian and organise do not words to use in the same sentence. SORRY MSC - never again at any price
