Every year for the last four years, we have cruised on Carnival- specifically the Destiny. We got a good deal on the Adventure of the Seas at the last moment. Two days before we could cancel and get a full refund, we canceled our first Victory cruise, and went with Royal Caribbean instead. There was only two main things that we enjoyed more about RCCL. First, that although there were children on board, you did NOT hear them crying and whining. In the Carnival ship, it was common to hear the kids getting out of hand, in the public areas such as the buffets and poolside. The kids on this cruise were all well behaved. The other nice thing was that you actually get served in the buffet areas. On Carnival, you get your own coffee, water, etc. On this ship, they will bring it for you. Well, THAT's it. Everything else on Carnival Destiny, was superior.

The food on Carnival Destiny vs. Adventure of the Seas:

Carnival- Rack of Lamb RCCL- Lamb Shank Carnival- Fillet Mignon RCCL- Top Sirloin (Fillet Mignon will cost you) Carnival- 1/2 Lobster RCCL- Please pass the magnifying glass so I can see this tail! Carnival- Espresso or Cappuccino -Free RCCL- $3.95 each Carnival- Grapefruit juice or Cranberry at breakfast- free- RCCL- $$$ Carnival- 24 hour pizza + variety RCCL- pizza such as TUNA??? (I'm NOT making that up!) Carnival- 24 hour soft serve ice cream- RCCL- Nope Carnival- Deli with decent variety RCCL- very limited choices Carnival- Chinese food offered at buffet area restaurant RCCL- Nope Carnival- 24 hour free room service* RCCL- charges will apply depending on time you order (*Note that RCCL room service was faster than that of Carnival. We usually order juice and coffee early in the AM).

Cabin Review

Cabin Bal

Stain on couch. Great view on balcony, all the way aft of the ship and was quiet.
