Having cruised multiple times with other cruise lines, it was a real disappointment cruising with Carnival. Friends kept bragging on how much we will enjoy this cruise knowing we have not gone with Carnival before. WELL, THEY WERE WRONG!!! Don't think I will go with Carnival again. Let me start with embarkation, we got to the pier at 1200n thinking it will be a breeze. Yes, we did pay extra for the VIP package (that saves us from the long line checking-in) but for God sake's, there was a long line to get in the boat because of the photos before you get in the ship. Guess what?, there was only one way in and the line is terribly long! The ship was pretty clean, the suite was roomy and our steward was pretty good in making sure we get what we need. The shows were okay but i guess it caters to adults only! Its a good thing we did not go with our kids. Don't think it will be taken that well by kids. It almost follows the same theme. nothing to really rave about. The only band we saw was Blood Power and they were great! (I think a lot of cruisers know them as such)Speaking of kids, i did not see any area that is kid-friendly. They offered a kid's club that uses the disco club as their space during the day. I did not see an area specific for them. The class of people on this particular cruise were FAR DIFFERENT from our previous cruises. you can only listen to so much rap/rhythm and blues/Motown. The water slide!?!, forget about it. The commercial advertises it a lot...opened for 3 hours during the day!!! The golf simulator?...broken! the golf pro informed us that it needs to be replaced but they have no intention of replacing it. How about breakfast in the LIDO deck, let me just say, why in the world would you keep the ham and bacon enclosed in the back of the counter? You have to physically ask for some in order to get some. That was pretty insulting!!!! Do you like gambling? Forget about it as you stand no chance in winning in the casino!!! Blackjack - Lets start with the automatic shufflers constantly shuffling the cards on every hand. Roulette - The screen is off so you will not see any previous numbers. Slots - they do not pay out, what else can i say. Not that we did not try to win or something, we were in the casino daily and dropped probably $3000 with no wins! The only thing we are happy about is the service we had in the Galaxy Dining Room. Our waiters Andrew and Kendall were over and above excellent!!! they were the only one who i can honestly say went above my expectation. It was nice looking forward to dinner knowing they are showing interest in what happened during our day. In summary, will i do this again? NO!!!!
