We flew in to Seattle a day early to be safe. Took the Airporter - Downtowner ($11 each - one way) to the Crowne Plaza on their route. They had a cruise package rate of $173 for the night. This also included 2 breakfast buffets, and 2 shuttle tickets to the cruise terminal. After checking in early around 2pm., we went to Pike Market to meet 2 other (family) couples they came in two days earlier. (My wife is the only one who still works.) We really enjoyed all the shops in the market. Later we went to Embassy Suites where they were staying for the manager's reception. Afterwards, we ate and they dropped us back at CP. Our 11:30 shuttle was late picking us up at CP and we got to the Bell Cruise Terminal around noon. That was the time it said to arrive on our cruise tickets. I assume that's what they told everyone. Because it was a whole lot of people, with no one from Celebrity to direct you. We got in the wrong line twice and were told at that door to go some where else. You have to fill out room tags for your luggage, before lining up to drop them off. Your travel agent may send them with your tickets, but booking thru the Internet we didn't get them. There were no porters around to help, either. When you get to the cruise terminal door, the Concierge Class were supposed to bypass the long line to clear security. The Celebrity man didn't tell us. Anyway, finally upstairs there were signs for CC to a short line to set up on board account. That all took about 45 minutes. I did notice on the Celebrity Today Early Edition paper they gave us when we boarded, "11:00 Embarkation of all guests" as the first item listed. Imagine that! Also, when leaving to go to the airport, I noticed a sign on a door at the terminal that said they started accepting luggage early at 10:00am. A few people were already lined up at 9:30. The other two couples we were with got there early at 11am (they had to drop their rental car off) and were able to board easily. They sent them thru the regular line to set up account, since there was no one waiting. We were in Concierge Class Veranda room 9046. My cousin got a good deal on the 3 cabins together from a vacation club he belongs to. I wouldn't pay too much extra for that, though. The bottle of champagne was good, the hors d'oeuvres were bad, what pillow menu, fresh fruit- if yours disappear, small flowers, toy binoculars, umbrella not used, extra hair dryer ok, expanded breakfast menu- if you know what time you will wake up, etc. Wickie took care of our stateroom, and Jose the other two. I think theirs was better. We had trouble communicating together. Juan (Honduras) our waiter and Boscia (Croatia) assistant waiter were the best we have had on any cruise. Our table of 6 ate at the Trellis Restaurant every night. They had the regular on one side, and a new one that changed nightly on the other side of the menu. The food served was very good, and there was so much to choose from. When we ate breakfast or lunch at the Oceanview Cafe and they (J&B) were there, they came by to greet us and see if we needed anything. They were just great to us! The food at the Cafe was ok, as was the Breezes Pool Grill. We didn't eat at any of the others. We were disappointed that the Sea Day Brunch did not have the crab legs. A waiter said they did not meet Celebrity's standards. We didn't see any the whole cruise. Disappointed to say the least! The Celebrity Dancer's had great shows. Fred Klett the comedian was good. Brent Nixon talks were outstanding. The couple that did the acrobatics, swinging each other in the air, was real good. Missed the magician. And Allan the cruise director was very entertaining. Thank you Allan for recognizing all the Veterans that served in the military around the world. That meant a lot! Thanks again, Allan. We booked our own tours after we arrived in the ports. In Ketchikan we took a city, wildlife, and Saxman Village tour and got dropped off at Dolly's house, with a ticket for entrance included in the total price. It cost us $60 each. You could then shop before walking back. Or they would drop you back at the ship if you wanted. In Juneau we took a city and Mendenhall Glacier tour, and then they dropped us off at a marina close by for a whale watching cruise. We saw a lot of humpback whales, and one came in 100 feet from our boat. They provided coffee, hot chocolate, and a snacks on the boat. Also saw eagles on it, including some juveniles. After that we got dropped back at the marina, we were taken back to the ship for some shopping close by. It cost us $120 each. At Victoria we hired an older limo with Robert as our guide. It cost us $240 for 4 hours, where ever we wanted to go. We went thru the town and stopped at the Craigdarroch Castle and then went to Butchart Gardens. We got to spend the amount of time we wanted at each stop. No rushing us. We had to pay entrance fees and got a free driver's pass for Robert. After the gardens we went back to Victoria another way. Robert was a very good guide and told us the history of Victoria and other interesting facts. We asked him questions and he asked us questions. We drove around the city and marina before heading back to the ship. Got to see the narrowest street ever. People kept trying to see who was in the limo. The total cost including fees at the gardens was around $66.50 each, for the 6 of us. It was a bargain. I heard some people complain that their tour was too short at the gardens. The 6 of us enjoyed the private limo. Disembarkation was easy. We ate breakfast picked up our carry on bags and headed to the lounge at 9am. We were told to just proceed to the ramp and clear customs. Picked up our bags and waited for my cousin to get a cab to Hertz. (Hertz paid for it) He had 8 passenger van reserved and picked us up at terminal The 6 of us and our bags fit easily in it. I think he paid $60 for it and dropped it off at airport. That was a good deal for 6 to airport. We really enjoyed our Alaskan Cruise on the Infinity. Hubbard Glacier was fantastic. The weather was great. The only rain was at the end of our whale watching boat tour at Juneau. You could go inside the cabin, and look out the windows if you wanted. It didn't rain very hard, though. Juan and Boscia really took care of us at late dinner seating. The Ocean View was ok food wise, but crowed at times. All the crew members were always friendly and spoke to you. The Infinity seems to be in good shape for its age. Our cabins were on deck 9 right under the Solarium. Several times we heard then moving lounge chairs early in the morning. The Solarium deck extends past the room balconies we were in, protecting you from the weather. But they also have a support brace that gets in your way when taking wide angle pictures. You would not have that problem on a deck 8 veranda or lower. The on board entertainment was very good. Stay away from the Bingo, which does not pay out very much money. Also, the jackpot starts at $1000 with a small amount of numbers called, and the jackpot doesn't increase. We bought a video of the cruise and the writing scrolled across it "This is a sneak preview of your voyage in review. Order your copy in the photo gallery deck 4 forward", while viewing it when we got back home. What a surprise! Finally even though they are owned by the same company, I still prefer Royal Carribean Cruises over Celebrity Cruises.
