My husband, our three children (ages 5, 6 and 9) and I took the Aug 28th Celebrity Millennium cruise from Seward to Vancouver. The weather the entire time was pretty cool--in the 60s F. We also had a lot of rain days, but that did not hamper our fun. Overall the Millennium was a very nice boat. It was spectacularly clean and neat all the time. The main areas are laid out well, tactfully decorated and all renovated.

We took a tour before we got on the boat in Seward--the Seavey's dog mushing camp. The kids loved that tour--but as an animal lover, I was a little put off because the 85+ dogs are very efficiently tied up on short leashes and the dogs were all very skinny (in my opinion). When the dogs were being picked for the sled ride, they went very reluctantly--some having to be pulled; made me wonder what they did not like about it. Also, I had to ask myself what happens to the dogs when they are no longer valuable as racers? Any way--the kids loved the tour. As an adult, I would have missed this one. The embarkation and disembarkation processes was very easy, efficient and casual. Embarkation began at 1pm, and we got there around 2pm. We were checked in and on the boat within 30 minutes of arriving at the port (but we were able to beat two big bus loads of cruisers on the check in line). I was glad we arrived early on the boat because I took the time to get unpacked and organized.

Our cabin was great! We actually had two connecting cabins--2029 and 2033. The kids loved their room and the "bunk" beds. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were big enough and the closet fit all our clothes and the 5 suitcases. We had an oceanview cabin. It was perfect--the windows were large and easy to see outside. (In fact, we saw Orcas from our cabin window in the inside passage). I wouldn't spend the money on the balcony rooms--its too cold to go out on the balcony anyway.

Cabin Review

Our cabins were very close to the front elevators, which was a plus. The only draw back is that we were in the front of the ship and most of the activities, pool, kids program, restaurants, etc. were in the back of the ship. I loved the windows--they were so big.
