Boarded Sensation on 9-13-09 in Port Canaveral. Found the ship pleasantly clean and in pretty good shape for an older ship. Ate lunch on Lido deck, pretty good, sandwiches are great. Allowed into cabins at 1;30. Was a little disappointed in our cabin. Not what the photo showed us, but it was ok. We had a balcony cabin so we did have a little more room than most. Cabins have been re done. Furniture is new. TV's are new-flat screen hanging on wall at foot of bed. Normal balcony cabins have the sliding glass doors that you can see ocean from, this one has a window that you can see out of if you are standing, and then the door is a single door. Again, it was ok. Nicer than not having a balcony. The cabin was spotless and nice. Air conditioning worked well. our steward was good. he kept everything clean, neat and always clean towels, and ice. We had no problems with soap, tp or towels as in other reviews. Dining: We were suppose to have a table for two, but were placed with 3 other couples. We spoke with the maitre D(fantasy dining room) and he immediately made the change--happily! Again, a pleasant surprise. He also checked on us every meal to make sure we were happy. Food was quite good. On same par with every other cruise that we have been on. Waiter ( PUTU) was also very good, helpful and pleasant. Would bring anything that we ask, even refills-no problem. Ship: What can you say about a ship that is an older ship? Well they have definitely made a few changes, but this ship still shows her wear. She is nice and comfy, but they should have done a little more to make her in really good shape. The glass elevators were chained closed and never worked. The other elevators definitely need work to run smoothly. The pool was closed several times with absolutely no reason that anyone could produce, but they were all very nice about it! Everyone on board was very nice and helpful. Always wanting to get you a drink, help you find your way, see if anything was needed, so this was also a pleasant surprise. All in all, for the money, a pretty nice trip!

Cabin Review

Cabin D

Empress Deck, was really great. Close to Internet cafe, close to a bar so we easily got sodas, information desk and shore tours are also on deck, so this was nice. All in all I really like this deck.

Cabin was ok. Not as pictured online, but ok. New flat screen tv's on wall. Bathroom has been re done. Not much room on sink, but ok. shower better than before. No mini fridge-no Mini bar, was surprised at this. Balcony small but ok. Had to stand in cabin to see out through window, or stand at the actual balcony single door to see out. Wasn't crazy about that. All in all I was a little disappointed, but the cabin was clean and kept clean and restocked every day by Eldin our cabin steward.
