Arrived at NY terminal about 10:45AM on Sunday before Labor Day. Processed in by 11:00 and boarded by 11:30. Bring your own coffee as there is no place in terminal to get a cup of coffee. Had lunch aboard ship at 12:00noon. We ate in the buffet area on Deck 12. Food was adequate and the selection was very large. After lunch we explored the ship and our rooms were ready by 1:30PM. Our room was very clean and large enough for the 2 of us. I cruised with my sister and we both are seniors. This was our 2nd cruise but our 1st was a cruise to nowhere and we were looking forward to getting off the ship and seeing different ports. We ate in the 2 open dining rooms every night and we were glad that they offered different selections daily. We were going to try one of the specialty restaurants but felt that the open ones were pretty good so we decided against it and we looked forward to the new daily specials everyday. I would rate the food about 3 stars which to us was very good but if you were expecting 5 star dining you would be disappointed. Portions were very small but we found it adequate. You could order another entree if you felt you wanted more. The service in the restaurants was excellent but we always ate dinner early between 5:30 and 6:00PM and we never had to wait. After reading some of the negative reviews I was a little nervous about what to expect but felt everything was fine. Everything on the ship was very clean and the crew certainly kept on top of things. On Monday we were at sea all day and had a hard time finding things to do. We were hoping for some free classes in the gym but the only classes they had they charged you for. We did not use the pool or hot tubs. The nightly shows were entertaining and we enjoyed most. We wanted to play bingo but didn't play because we felt the cost was too high. The least amount was $39.00 and up. We felt that was too much to spend on 4 games but a lot of people played and we watched. Our favorite game to play was Trivia and it was at 6:30PM every night and it was free. They also had a day game but most days we were off the ship visiting the different ports. Overall our week was enjoyable and I wouldn't hesitate to take another cruise.

Would have liked a bigger TV with more channels. It was very hard to read captions on bottom of TV from the bed. We had to keep getting up in order to read the news stations. Also a DVD player would be nice for movies.
