This was my 5th Princess cruise. Embarkation was fairly quick. We arrived at the port around 1pm and were in our cabin within 30 minutes. The Grand Princess is showing her age. I was on it several years before, and you could definately see the difference in the public spaces. The ports included Bruges, Copenhagen, Helsingborg, and Oslo. We had good weather at all ports. We didn't take any excursions through the cruise line, and through smart research on cruise critic were able to explore all the ports at significant savings. Highlights included: (1) Exploring Bruges after taking the local railroad and tram to get there from the ship. The total cost for 2 people roundtrip was only 10 euros. (2) Visiting Tivoli in Copenhagen. (3) Taking the ferry to Helsingor and visiting Kronberg Castle. (4) Going to Vigeland Sculpture park in Oslo. The low point of this cruise BY FAR was the Cruise Director and his staff. The Cruise Director, Martyn Moss, was offensive in his humor at the end of shows. It was entirely unnecessary and unlike we have ever seen onboard a Princess ship or another cruise line. We are used to the Cruise Director and staff being friendly and engaging the passengers on the ship, but the majority of them didn't at all on this ship. A big disappointment. Princess - you can do better! The last day, we went through a fairly bad storm and the ship rocked around a lot. This delayed our return to Southampton by about 7 hours. The staff of the ship was understandly overwhelmed, and lost a lot of organization in the disembarkment process. This was unfortunate, and I know a lot of people were quite frustrated. Fortunately, we had a late flight and this minimized the inconvenience.
