The kids hadn't been on Royal Caribbean so we decided to let them experience it. Everyone had a great time. Embarkation was the smoothest we have ever experienced. The ship is beautiful and has a lot to offer. I appreciate the fact that movies are shown poolside and in the theater. The dining in the main dining room was a little disappointing but the food and service in the Jade/windjammer made up for it! Honduras was our favorite port. We booked an excursion through an outside company rather than through the ship and we couldn't have been happier!!! The kids loved the slides, the pizza and the frappé's. Getting off the ship was also easier than any other time we have cruised out of Galveston, this being the first with RCI. We are hoping to go on a bigger ship next time but maybe without the kids so mom can have some time off.
Our cabin was in a great location for us. It wasn't far from the stairs/elevators and was centrally located from the dining, pool, and kids areas.
We were pleasantly surprised by the port area. There is a large pool area surrounded by restaurants and shops. The prices were a little much and it does make you feel a little trapped. We walked around a while, shopped a little, enjoyed a snack and went back to the ship. Not long after it started pouring down rain so we were glad we hadn't ventured out too far and paid for an excursion that could have been rained out.
