We chose this cruise for the destinations. We flew into Tampa. I highly recommend using Carnival's shuttle service. It's reasonable and drops you off right at the port. Tampa's port was easy to get through in a reasonable amount of time. We sailed on the Paradise. It was supposed to sail to Cozumel and the Cayman Islands. However, our itinerary was changed. We sailed Costa Maya instead of the Cayman Islands. Cozumel was fun! I highly recommend visiting Tulum (The Mayan Ruins) or the Salsa, Salsa excursion in Cozumel. The comedians were great! Shows were good for entire family. The food was average. I didn't care for the buffets because they offered a lot of the fried foods. Main dining food was pretty good, service was a little slow. Costa Maya was a big disappointment. I don't recommend staying in port unless you have a planned excursion. The business owners and the insects were extremely annoying! Carnival offered everyone on our cruise a $25 on board Credit because they changed the itinerary. It wasn't worth the headache! I always do research when planning a cruise. I was disappointed with the condition of the Paradise. We stayed on Level 6 where the Upper Deck elevator area smelled moldy, water was leaking from ceiling and they had fans in hallways the entire cruise. One of the main elevators in lobby area wasn't operable the entire cruise. One set of sliding doors to the buffet was inoperable for a day. Was awaken by a very loud noise one night, not sure what it was. The Serenity area (private area for 21+) was very small and crowded. My husband and I have sailed on several Carnival ships. I am not a fan of the Paradise! If you are looking for a reasonable cruise with good service, food and entertainment, look into cruising on Carnival Sensation or Sunshine.
