I always wanted go to Spain. This Western Mediterranean cruise stops at many Spanish cities. I booked this cruise in January 2017. I bought Rick Steve's books for Italy and Spain from Amazon. These books and CruiseCritic.com helped us to plan what to do in ports and Shore excursions . I had 5 months to plan a dream vacation.

We live in So Cal and the air trip to Rome, the embarkation port, was arranged by Choice Air. it took 12 hours nonstop flight from LAX to Rome (FCO) by Alitalia. We traveled to Florence (Santa Maria Novella) from Rome airport by train. The plane landed at 2 PM and we got on the 3 PM express train. The immigration and custom check at the airport was breezy. We stayed 4 nights in Florence near by SMN train station and I booked lodging using VRBO. The apt I got was in a good location but not in a nice/quiet place - the other building occupants (many non-Italians) were noisy, as was the street below. This was our first time visiting Florence and didn't know where to stay so I focused on finding place near SMN. It worked out OK. For our next Florence trip I will checkout airbnb. Florence is very compact historic city and all must see places are in walking distance. We LOVED Florence. The fourth day, we visited Siena by bus. I highly recommend visiting Siena. We left Florence for Pisa by train on the fifth day. At SMN station, a foreign girl heard us discussing where to stamp our train ticket and she took me to the machine, then asked for money. This is a common scam that you need to watchout for. We stayed in Grand Hotel Bonanno and the hotel is in walking distance to Pisa tower/Plaza of Miracles. We walked to the Pisa tower day and night and the night view of Pisa tower is a must see. The next day we took train from Pisa to Civitavecchia, after having bought the ticket in advance prior to leaving the US on the Trenitalia website. It took one and an half hour by train. From there we had to take shuttle bus (2 Euros) to the dock then take Celebrity Cruise ship shuttle (free) to the ship.

The Reflection is beautiful. The embarkation was short and easy. We checked in to our cabin before 12 PM. We met our cabin steward Marites. She spoiled us for 11 days. Upon arrival we both bought all you can use WiFi. Since we are away for a long time (21 days), we wanted to check in with family and work. Celebrity had deal buy one and get second Wi-Fi at half price.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 2

Cabin A2

The cabin was located at mid ship on 11th floor near elevator. Very quite but a long walk to Persian Garden we had access. Many nights, we enjoyed watching reflected moon light shining on the sea at the balcony. So beautiful!!!!

Another note: Since we loved our first time Aqua class experience so much, we wanted book another cruise, on the ship, for my entire family. I have three grand children. Celebrity said no kids allowed for Aqua class. That is way I have not seen any kids on our floor.
