We chose this cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Port everglades is convenient for us as we live just an hour away. We had been on the Allure 4 years ago, and on the Oasis 2 years ago. On the Oasis we had a central park veranda cabin which didn't provide the ocean views we prefer. So this voyage we had an ocean view veranda cabin which was more satisfactory. Bear in mind, there are just a few public places on this ship to sit, relax and gaze at the ocean and with about 6000 passengers we find the need for a quiet escape. So our cabin was our refuge.

The entertainment on the ship is still the highlight. The aqua show and Mama Mia are particularly excellent. The main diningroom definitely is not! We had anytime dining and it was a zoo. The room is crazily noisy and four out of seven dinner meals were sub par with mushy fish and tough beef. The desserts lacked imagination compared to other lines we have been on. However, lunch at the park cafe is not to be missed. We even ate breakfast there a few mornings, as the main diningroom, even at breakfasr, was noisy and crowded. The solarium is another option for breakfast and lunch. Fortunately we are diamond members and the club room was lovely plus the generous three drinks in any bar enhanced our celebration.

To sum up our feelings about the Allure....this is a fun ship with lots to see. But would we go again? Not in the foreseeable future.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Loved the location of deck 8. We could walk right out to central park and could walk through to get to the other side of the ship.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Four 4 dollars there is transportation into town

Nassau

The walk into town is long and hot because the ship docks in the furthest berth. There is no shuttle offered by either RCCL or a local entrepreneur.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

The port is large with tons of shops all offering similar tees and such. There is a shuttle from the ship offered by an enterprising local. One can buy a private tour at the port
