I chose this cruise primarily for the date and location. I wish I had gone with Norwegian Breakaway that was there, docked alongside us at the same time. The Summit, docked next to the Breakaway, looked so sad and old. And it was sad and old. The average age was 70. And there is nothing wrong with that, but it is advertised much differently. Do yourself a favor, if you are under 55 or you want to have fun on the cruise as well as your destination, pick another ship.

During our sailing, the first days at sea were intensely depressing. The ship was rolling and the weather was cold, wet and overall miserable. Being cooped up on a ship with nothing to do with 90% over age 70 was unbearable. I had three 20 something girls with me, they were in tears. We saw young newlyweds, in tears. It is painfully boring. And extremely depressing, I have never seen more ancients gathered together at the same time, ever.

They had events scheduled that usually fizzled out due to lack of participation. Absolutely nothing going on after midnight. Music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I thought I was in purgatory. They seemed to try harder after we set sail on the return. I wish they had given that effort when we were heading out. Bermuda is a beautiful destination. It cheered everyone up.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 8

The cabin was very nice. However, they tie two twin beds together to make a queen size bed. The space between the two beds is not reconciled, one of the couple sleeping in the bed ends up rolling into the crack and waking up with a big backache. You have to deal with this for 7 nights. Consider that a couple who feels romantic can forget it. Might as well leave the beds separate, as they were.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Bayonne is an ugly port, however, it's very convenient if you're driving. It's much better than New York City. The lines move much faster.
