I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We arrived a day early and stayed at the Ashton Waikiki . I booked the hotel through the cruise line and the hotel was in a good location but the hotel itself wasn't that nice. The ship was very nice, it was clean and the staff was fantastic. The cabin was comfortable and well maintained. I found the food to be terrible, there was not one meal that I enjoyed. I didn't go to any speciality restaurants on principle alone, I paid enough for the cruise and I think it's terrible that you have to pay extra for a decent meal. I also think the cruise line took advantage of the passengers. We weren't allowed to bring anything to drink on board, I like to keep water by my bed at night and I paid $36 for a case of 24 bottles of water which you can get in any supermarket for under $5. Because of some sort of law the ship could not provide a liquor package so all drinks were paid for individually. I had a double Tito's on the rocks and it cost me $23!
There were a lot of activities and the entertainment was good. The ports were great and most of the shore excursions were good. I loved the submarine excursion! There are two excursions I would advise to avoid. The first excursion is Maui, Lahaina On Your Own, we were dropped off at outets, if I wanted to shop at the Gap or Reebok I could have done that at home. The second excursion is Discover Kauai and Luau. Kauai is just beautiful, the luau was really bad. There were over 800 people at the Luau, we were packed in like sardines and I didn't see any part of the show.
The cruise was overall a good cruise, I would recommend it but be prepared to spend money.
The cabin was clean and comfortable.
