My husband and I have been a many cruises with Carnival. For the most part we have given most of those cruises an 8-9 out of 10. We recently came back from a cruise on the new Vista, and were very disappointed with the cruise overall, and give this cruise a 5-6 max. I will give some examples: the food was terrible, with the exception of the steakhouse. The atrium was lacking the wow factor and was only 3 stories, and missed the famous glass elevators and view. The elevators were extremely slow, and sometimes took 5 or more minutes to arrive on the required floor, and also skipped floors often. Some of the staff were unfriendly and short. The lines throughout the ship (lido marketplace, pool, shops, and outdoor activities) were so long at times, we turned around and walked off after waiting so long. The pools were full from open to close, and kids were everywhere. (Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but we could not find a spot to swim or cool off). The Serenity deck did not have a much needed pool. The prices of everything seemed to be going up, up, up. Housekeeping no longer cleans the rooms in the morning and in the evening; instead they offer a choice of morning OR evening. Photos are no longer lined up along the photo gallery walls; instead the photos are available on their app or on tv. They can be viewed on a tablet and then ordered at the photo gallery. We stopped at La Romana, Dominican Republic. Peddlers everywhere, and an unfit port. Very, very disappointing, and didn't feel safe or comfortable. Went back onto the ship just as quickly as we got off. I can go on and on, but I must give kudos to the few people that did make the cruise a bit better. Regardless of the food, the wait staff, James, Jerald, and Mujaya were excellent. They were very attentive, and aimed to please. If you are lucky enough to get them, they will make your day. Our stewardess, Ysabel, was attentive, and made sure that our room was clean and bed was turned down every evening. She gave us a phone number to call if we were ever in need of anything, and she was always kind and professional. I have no plans on returning to the Vista, and hope that in time they might take note of these things and make some changes and improvements.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin was decent. We had an upgrade which gave us an additional 1/2 bath, which was useful. Other than that it was an average ocean view. The stewardess was excellent, and well worth mentioning. (Ysabel)
