WARNING: THIS IS A LONG REVIEW! Grab a pillow and a cup of coffee, and settle on back!
A little background---this was our 4th cruise, our first being Costa, the last three were on RCCL ships. We are in our early 40's--and we traveled with my cousin and her husband, our favorite cruise buddies! This was my favorite cruise so far! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the ports!
PRE CRUISE: We drove down from Atlanta and arrived in Port Canaveral around 1 p.m.-after we had stopped in Jacksonville for the night. (Homestead Suites $42 on Priceline). Anyway, we were unable to check in until 3 p.m. We headed to Walgreens, visited Ron Jon's, and then headed to the beach for a few minutes, until the rains came. We headed over to the Radisson, and were pleasantly surprised with our room. I had read mixed reviews, so I was a bit nervous. We had a room facing the pool, which was a little noisy, but the pool closed at 10, so no problems after that. One note about the Radisson--I had originally booked the Cruise and Sail package, which was around $140 for the night, and that included parking. I later found that you don't have to pay the extra, that they will let you park for free whether you get that package or not. I used my AAA card, and got my room for $99, and I was still able to park for free. AND we used the free shuttle (more on that later)! Also, they had laundry facilities, in case you need them. We called ahead to GRILLS, and had seating for 4:30. Had some tasty, tasty Mahi, and husband had bacon wrapped scallops, I think. We had printed the 10% coupon off the internet. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant! We were able to see 2 ships sail away at around 5, so that was a great time for dining. We headed for the airport to pick up our travel pals at around 10:30--problem free.
