This might sound like I didn't like the cruise, but that is not the case. We sailed out of Port Canaveral and had only one stop, Nassau, Bahamas. We were able to board quickly although we were slightly early in our arrival to the port. We (wife and I) had "Faster to the Fun" passes, so we had our own area to wait for boarding. It didn't take us long to board and put our belongings in our cabin (9202). We ate lunch on the Lido Deck. Food was consistently good during the cruise in both the lido dining room and in the Silver Dining Room. We had the late seating, so we had to miss a few things (entertainment) that were only offered once. This was our first time having the late seating option. We were at a table of four, but the other couple didn't show up until the last night, so we dined alone the previous nights. It rained on the ship some each day, something Carnival couldn't control. Some events on Saturday had to be placed elsewhere other than the pool since it was raining. While there were families on board, this cruise had more of a "party" feel to it. Lots of young(er) people on board and plenty of drinking. After reading previous reviews of this ship, we didn't know if we should expect the worse, but we didn't find any problems discussed previously. Our room was spacious and clean. Our steward, Asmail, was wonderful. He kept our room tidy and clean. The pool and common areas were all maintained and had no problems with finding anything "sticky" on tables or other surfaces. This ship is the sister ship to the Glory and Valor, both of which we have sailed. Our disappointment was the lack of activities for the late seating. While we were eating, we missed the comedy shows that were rated PG (the R rated shows were later and we could have gone). I wish they could have scheduled those events either earlier so late dinner patrons could have attended or later, after our meal service was finished. There were not as many trivia games on this cruise as others. Dinners in the Silver Dining Room were good. Food was nice and hot. Service has been better on other Carnival cruises, but wasn't terrible. Ok, they could have kept my water glass full or just keep the water carafe on the table! Would I return? Sure! The weather could have been better, but that is nothing that anyone can control. Disembarking was a breeze this time. We had the private island tour (no meal offered tour) and had to wait longer than I thought we needed to, but again, nothing terrible. We'll be cruising on Carnival again, perhaps on this ship again!

Cabin Review

Interior with Picture Window (obstructed views)

Cabin 4J

Our cabin is a handicap room for those traveling with a disability. While we didn't have a disability, that room was available when we booked. We had a window with an obstructed view and a larger than normal bathroom. Plenty of closet space for a 3 or 4 day cruise if you're not bringing your entire wardrobe! Our cabin steward, Asmail, was outstanding in keeping our room clean and fresh. Comfortable pillows (we had a total of 4), comfortable bed. Air conditioning worked well. Shower head was good with nice water pressure. Had a TV remote that didn't work, but we reported it and probably a new battery was added. Also had an issue with the shower head, but it was also repaired in short order. We liked this room although we normally preferred a mid-ship cabin.
