A beautiful way to celebrate 25 years of marriage!

Sail Date: September 2009
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We sailed out of Miami on Saturday, Sept 5, 2009 on the Carnival Liberty. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at pier around 12:20, on board by 1:00, having our welcome aboard cocktail. Cabin available upon boarding, luggage delivered by 3 pm. Had a blast at sailaway party. Cruise Director Butch was an awesome leader and got the energy of the passengers going right away. This practice continued the entire cruise.

Port visits were great, our favorite being Grand Turk where we rented a car and explored the beautiful island at our own pace. St Thomas, while there on every cruise, never ceases to take our breath away. Took a tour with Sunny Liston and had a blast. Old San Juan was very nice too. Took carriage ride, had breakfast at La Bonbonaeras bakery and then shopped and strolled the old streets of shops. Half Moon Cay, cannot say enough. Sand was like silk, aqua blue waters kept us captive for over 5 hours, as the sign said, we did NOT want to leave either. More

Service on our ship was impeccable. Our cabin Steward Lukie-Lukie was awesome and definately catered to our every whim, with a smile and a greeting every time.

Food was delicious from the dining room to the buffett to the Fish and Chips bar.

Entertainment rocked too. Shows were wonderful. Live entertainment in bars awesome too, especially enjoyed Duane in the Piano Bar.

The Carnival colors contest, the Legends show, the Master Mixologist contest were awesome touches and really gave passengers the opportunity to shine in front of all their fellow passengers.

Overall, we couldnt think of a better way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and loved every minute of our cruise adventure. So much so that we purchased 2 certificates for future cruise to take within the next 5 years. Cannot wait to the next time.

Our first cruise was in 2002 on Carnival Destiny, then switched to RCI in 2004 and continued to sail with RCI for the next few cruises. Decided to try Carnival again for this trip and sooooooooooooo glad we did. They won us over and we will definately be back as soon as we can. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Liberty Balcony Empress

Great location. (7360) Midship, 2 floors above promenade, 2 floors below Lido deck. Great balcony view

Port and Shore Excursions

Rented a car on our own. Drove up the coast all the way to the lighthouse, stopping at different areas along the way. Checked out Cockburn town, saw a herd of wild horses, including a newborn colt along the roadside, took some fantastic pictures up near the cliffs by the lighthouse. Met some great natives of the island. Had a cold tasty Turks Head beer and fresh conch salad at Bovio Dive Resort at Pillory Beach. Great time, great exploring, great pics.

Sunny Liston tour, beginning in CHarlotte Amalie for 2 hrs shopping. Then off for the wild island tour with Sunny and some new found friends blaring the island music as we chanted up and down the roads of the island, making our way between Botanical Gardens, Drakes Seat, Bluebeard's Castle, then the lovely beaches of Magens Bay, Sapphire Beach and even Frenchman's Reef. Ended our tour and took the tram up to Paradise Point and had some great breaded Flying Fish and a couple of Bushwackers and we enjoyed the island breeze and the view below.
