Setting sail

The ports were the reason we were drawn to this particular cruise, and once we saw how much Brilliance "shines" while at sea, with her top notch staff, we knew it was too good to be true. From Barcelona, to Nice, to Livorno (Florence & Pisa), to Civitivecchia (Rome), to Salerno (Naples, Sorrento, Portofino, Pompeii, Capri and the entire Amalfi Coast), to Venice fo the overnight, to Zadar, Croatia and to stunning Kotor, Montenegro, we ad a wonderful time aboard her!!! The overnight in Venice was the key selling point, and other cruisers agreed that they also selected this particular cruise for the same reason. The Mediterranean Sea was calm and we floated to our ports without any issues whatsoever. The Cruise Director HelloClo was so engaging, the entertainment on the ship were better than any I've experienced on other ships, and the Guest Services staff handled cruisers with ease. Typically I see long lines at Guess Services while on other cruise vacations, but the Brilliance staff seemed to be able to handle clients without having too much of a queue.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

The only issue with this cabin is that it is far from the nearest stairs. I've been aboard other RCI ships of similar size (GT) and this one did not have an aft set of stairs. Only mid and fore. So there was a long trek to get to our aft-facing cabin. Yes, we needed the exercise especially after enjoying the delicious foods from the Mistral Dining Room, but I had not realized that the stairs were that far when I booked the cruise.

Port Reviews

Venice

Gorgeous city - plan to walk ALOT here, as you get "pleasantly lost" amongst all the winding turns, bridges to cross, and shops to find.

Zadar

You must see the Sea Organ in Old Town.

Kotor

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED KOTOR!!! If you go, make sure you're awake as the ship sails into the port, which will take about 1.5 hours. The ship goes into a few smaller bays, and the views are AMAZING!
