We just finished our first river cruise on Viking Kvasir from Amsterdam to Bazel. We were in Europe for a month (Amsterdam for three days, Paris for a week, and London for 9 days) and this was the highlight of the trip. 186 passengers and 53 crew. Food, Service and Crew were fantastic. We liked the single dining seating. The chef enjoyed his food as much as we did. He was about 6' 4" and weighed about 300+. The resident piano/sax player was very good. We have done 18 ocean cruises so sailing on a small "boat" was very different. We liked the daily excurions, both included and extra, and how well planned they were. On a smaller venue you get to meet just about everyone. Friends have sailed Avalon and Circle but I believe Viking is the best. May spend a little more, but WELL worth it. We are looking forward to next river cruise.
