Previously sailed on Oasis and Allure so wanted to experience the Harmony. Group of 9 --- all enjoyed with most experiences being very positive. All who had never been on a BIG ship were impressed with the way the 6500+ passengers are dispersed into so many areas of the ship that no place was very crowded (except the always-crowded -- on any ship -- buffet). Harmony incorporates new technology much of which is gimmicky and not necessary and added nothing to the experience. Wrist straps that contain, allegedly, all of the information on the sea pass cards, didn't always work so we discarded ours even though we did not have to buy them being suite passengers (cost $5 for others, we heard). In the definitely negative category is the egregious pricing of alcohol on this ship - example: a very ordinary Bloody Mary (bar vodka) was $11.00 plus $1.27 tax (never could figure out to whom we are paying tax!) then 18% gratuity so my drink cost $14.25! The ticket also had a line for additional gratuity. Wines available - either by the glass or bottle -- were cheap wines at hugely inflated prices. I love to try various drinks on cruises but felt so gouged by the pricing that I just ordered very little. In the positive category, adults should opt for the Solarium area on the front of the ship for a quiet, comfortable area. Post for passengers 16 and over, we found families who obviously thought the sign did not apply to them so usually a few children. The RCCL staff did not police this at all - they should have. Also not policed were the signs on the ice and water dispensers asking passengers not to fill bottles - many people did this right in front of staff who said nothing - this should have been addressed as a disgusting situation. Food was generally good - wasted $35 each on Jamie's which is pedestrian and not worth even a $1 cover charge. Solarium Bistro - at no extra cost - a nice quiet alternative to the chaos in the Windjammer. For suite passengers, the Coastal Kitchen on 17 is just delightful. Main dining room food was good - especially the lobster night which was excellent. Staff was friendly and courteous (except for one of the bar staff who took our sea pass cards to charge our bottle of wine, failed to bring back our cards or a bill and seemed to disappear so parts unknown with our cards. Had to be cancelled and reissued but our head waiter, Milagros was super efficient in taking care of the matter.
