We chose this cruise for the itinerary, first; then for the value. It was an older ship, but in excellent condition. I've been on other ships that pleased me more, aesthetically; but it was very good, nonetheless.
Embarkation in Vancouver went smoothly, although someone with mobility issues would find the walking distance difficult. No steep inclines, though.
Cruise staff members were top-notch. My only frustration was around reservations for a specialty restaurant. Weeks prior to cruising, we reserved for a special occasion, and had to pre-pay with a Visa, and couldn't use our onboard credit. We were told it could be fixed onboard at Guest Relations. That didn't happen. Ultimately, we cancelled and rebooked, with a credit back to our Visa. BUT the problem was that we had paid for 4 people, but payment for 2 was refunded to us and 2 to the other cabin. After my conversations with 6 different staff members, we resolved the issue by the other party giving us a check for the amount refunded to them.
Cabin was a great, and in a most convenient location. There were some minor issues with hair dryer, tv remote, and shower temperature, but our cabin attendant took prompt care of those.
