I thoroughly enjoyed my 9-night cruise on Anthem of the Seas. The reason I picked this cruise was because of the itinerary and the BOGO deal that I received. The ship was huge but didn't seem overbearing. The Royal Esplanade was pretty nice. There were constant activities taking place in the Royal Esplanade. I really liked Two70. I thought the room was fantastic. I also liked the fact that you could get food from Two70 Cafe and eat in the comfortable chairs and enjoy the views of the sea and the entertainment that took place in the space. I liked the food options. I wish that cafe would stay open 24-hours a day. I enjoyed the Music Hall but wish the ship had a separate space for evening dancing. Some of the activities seemed to overlap in the Musical Hall.
I liked the dining options on the ship. I ate mostly in the complimentary restaurants and Windjammer. I never had any problems with the My Time dining option. I ate one evening at Chops and the food was fabulous. I would definitely eat there again. As I stated before, I enjoyed eating at the Two70 Cafe. The service was good.
The entertainment was good. I really enjoyed The Sound Collage, We Will Rock You, the comedians, and the singer Porsche Smith in Michae's Pub. The reggae band, One Love, was great as well. I enjoyed listening to them perform near the pool and in Two70. The Symphony Orchestra and the Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns shows in Two70 were awesome. I really liked that space.
The cabin was good for one person. There was the lack of storage for clothing. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was sufficient. The staff attendant, Eleanor, was great. She always made sure my room was clean and often checked to see if I needed anything. She always had a smile on her face. I did not like the channels that were offered. Not enjoy movie channels and too many repeats. I think they need to remove Forensic Files as one of the options.
