I'd like to say first that I like cruising. I went on a Carnival Cruise the first time. Norwegian Sky was our second cruise ship and it did not disappoint. The staff and crew for this cruise was great. I'm always impressed by cruise ships because they have native and immigrant workers who work their heart out to make sure you enjoy your cruise. Kudos to Norwegian for organizing everything well and having great people. They deserve your tips and politeness.

Now on to Cuba. Cuba was good. My parents knew Spanish so we were able to navigate the city well. The prices for the tours conducted by natives of the island are expensive. If you can negotiate well. It is fun to cruise the island in a classic car. We were able to buy some Rum and Cohiba Cigars with the help of the locals. The island is everything you'd expect of a fledgling communist country slowly becoming more capitalist. The differences between old Havana and new Havana could not be more different. People are friendly but you need to be on your guard though as you stick out like a sore thumb as a tourist and some of the people want to shake you down. Knowing Spanish is a must if you are not going on a shore excursion. The Ultimate Highlights of Cuba shore excursion was worth it. They take you out on a tour bus and drive you all around the city with a tour guide. After cruising the island in a hot car it was nice to be in an air conditioned bus.

Finally I will say a point about the dining. The dining aboard the ship was great. I felt like I was eating at a five star restaurant in the two complimentary dining rooms Crossings and the Palace.

Your room will be small but it is okay for a 4 day cruise.
