We were away or a friends 50th. Half of our party had been on a previous PO cruise to Bruges and had a wonderful time, so we were all looking forward to what we saw as a taster cruise. Sadly as this is more affordable than the longer cruises it seems it was full with a lot of Hen and Stag Parties. Not the end of the world as we were able to find quieter places (such as the Piano Bar) but not really the scene we were going for. It also highlighted a lot of the negative sides of cruising such as queueing on and off as you are doing this in a short space of time but again this was not the worst thing to put up with. The lifts were very slow and a distinct lack of stairs meant that you had to wait a long time for a space in a lift, made so much worse on disembarkation day. The staff were miserable in the restaurants, whether they were at the end of a 6 month shift or not keen on 2 day cruises, but this was not the service we were expecting. our food was placed (bruskly) down in front of us with no rapor or interaction from staff. They appeared thoroughly fed up and this in turn made us feel thoroughly fed up. Food on first night mediocre and delicious the black tie night. (Wont get over seeing a blow up doll in a tux for this lol) Final gripe is that twice we were interupted by the room attendant. There was a knock with no pause before they entered. Both times we were in Bed and could have been embarrasing ;-)
