We are one of those lucky one who have been cruising since 2003, 10+ more weeks visits of Alaskan ports, 5 weeks on Norwegian Sun. Now you know why we were not excited about this trip.
Cruising is about having a good time meeting different people, minimal planning and lay back. All cruise lines have the followings in comment: friendly staffs work hard to please and clean ships. This ship was no exception. However, this ship no longer offers formal and lobster night. The speciality restaurant charges price per dish rather than one cover charge/ evening other than $79 usf per 3 visits to any restaurant per person.
Although of many visits we had done; the followings was our first: early June sail as this was the only 7 days trip from Vancouver to Vancouver in the summer, the next one was in late September which high risk of foggy weather( nothing to see, but more seals sighting.) The early June means the Salmon has not arrived Kitchiken spawning, which leads no seal and little eagles to the area. However, for the first time, we spotted a bear and 3 deer walking on the beach when the ship heading into Kitchikan channel from the North. Have a good binocular ready and check out the beaches.
