Was very disappointed since most reviews for this cruise ship and line are pretty good. Went on an Alaskan cruise, which meant most of the ships outdoor areas were not really usable. This left limited common spaces to hang out. Food was mediocre, but I did always have something I could eat. Interior room was pretty spacious. Overall, my review would be a 3.5/5 here.

Why 2? Member of our party got FOOD POISONING on the boat (and definitely from the boat since it was after a full sea day). He threw up outside the Windjammer (buffet) in front of staff and NO ONE HELPED him. After seeing an on-board doctor, he was appropriately quarantined.

His pregnant wife had to be quarantined with him, since there are no other rooms available (which turns out the medical staff had no way to know this and should have called guest services to arrange a room). He suggests that maybe she could stay with her family (me) instead since she's pregnant. Doctor says that's fine.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin N

Cabin was way larger than expected, especially for an inside room. Lots of lights on lots of different controls, so one person can definitely have some light while another is sleeping. Since the room is large enough, a curtain separating the sleeping area would have been a huge plus. It can go right where the decorative mini curtain is.

Layout was good too. Had a couch that sectioned off the sleeping area from the living. Perfect for watching anything on the TV or chatting with others.

There was lots of storage for clothes and such, as well as lots of hidden storage for anything else. Warning, I do always travel with only one carry-on, so pretty much any storage is lots for me.

Bathroom is small, as expected, but otherwise relatively functional. My only negative is the shower. I would prefer something more rigid than a curtain. The first two nights I had issues not getting water everywhere. The shower head itself was very powerful, which was both good and bad. Good, in that I love good water pressure. Bad, in that I'm pretty short (at 5'2"), and no matter how I adjusted the height, it was pretty much in my face or neck. Shower head is removable, but once you're holding it, water is going everywhere. It'll actually go off the wall in the shower, pass the curtain if you're not careful.

Port Reviews

Seward

Great places to just walk along the water or in the town.

Lots of places to have eat or have coffee.

Sealife center is a bit expensive for it's size, but I really enjoyed it. Lots of animals chilling out in the water.

Icy Strait

Had king crab, which was expensive, but super good. Hiked around a bit ourselves, and saw a lazy bald eagle in the trees, an otter fish a crab out of the water and a pod of whales feeding.

Ketchikan

Nice place to walk around and enjoy some food. Had king crab and AK tacos near port. Both very tasty.
