We were given this cruise as a "gift" to celebrate a milestone birthday from a relative that belongs to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). The cruise was a great getaway for adults - from our pairing at the dining tables to just being able to have "alone time." Want to relax? Find the padded windows on deck 3 outside of Azure to read a book or nap while watching the Canadian/Alaskan nature go by. Some real positives - HOT - hot chocolate available during the northern part of the trip - lentil soup served outside as well. As mentioned previously, food was just OK - the halibut was always overcooked (a shame for such an expensive piece of fish). And except for Palo, the food was never really hot. Service was 5-star from the hostess to the wait staff. Late movies were almost always in 3-D. The Pirates - Dead Men Tell No Tales premiere was in the Walt Disney theater the night it opened in the US. A the Frozen show is probably the best presentation we've seen this side of Disney-based Broadway shows. Cabin (standard/inside) was very comfortable except that the shower was a bit hard to get "all wet" due to the low height. Having a clock next to the bed was a nice touch. Excursions are expensive - and if you don't take one - walking around Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan can get pretty tiring of jewelry and t-shirts (although the tram to Mt. Roberts is right by the docks). Not sure we would have picked Disney if this hadn't been a gift - but if you and/or your kids are Disney fanatics - this is a great cruise.
Very quiet - near the front of the ship. Got a bit creaky when we were "out to sea" before get back into the inside passage. Great bed and servicing. Low shower made it hard to get a really good shower. Small toilet. Wish there had been some US based TV channels instead of international versions of BBC News, Fox News, MSNBC and CNBC.
Pretty little town - not much to do as there are nothing but jewelry and t-shirt shops in town. Reading labels made it clear that much of the merchandise is not local.
The drive from the US was easy and dropping off our bags and parking was a snap. Even though we had a 2 PM embarkation, we were told to get in line as soon as we got there (12:30).
The Mt. Roberts tram is a wonderful way to see the sights if you don't take an excursion. the Halibut and Chips is very expensive.
Visited with friends - but did go to Totem Bight (highly recommended).
