We were in a 3 family large group with 17 people. The cruise was arranged by a travel agent, but we still had to do all of the data-entry and check-in on lien with Royal. So I don't think using the travel agent added any value. Royal's web site has performance issues. It is often not available, and not very user friendly. It was very hard to link two rooms together on the same billing. Phone support was not able to help either so I had to get this fixed at check in.

The Port of Galveston is great for us because we can drive there an avoid airline fees, however the infrastructure of the port lacking. If there are two big ships unloading and loading on the same day expect major delays and a traffic nightmare.

Liberty of the Seas is a great ship. Very modern, excellent amenities, top notch entertainment. My only complaint is that there was a lot of construction going on, which blocked off some areas and caused noise.

Family Interior Stateroom

Cabin FI

Room was clean and everything worked. Only complaint is that the menu to see your bill is integrated into the TV, and it did not work all the time.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Traffic flow is horrible at the Galveston Terminal.

Costa Maya

Shopping requires good bartering skills. Vendors apply lots of pressure. Bring cash, be wary of scams.
