We wanted to finish off our family vacation at Disney World with a quick cruise to 1) recover from days spent walking at the parks and 2) introduce our two young children to the cruising experience. Majesty of the Seas' Bahamas sailing fit our schedule and our budget. We thought, worst case, three days on Majesty is no more than a few more days at Disney, and if our kids hated the experience of the boat, there were no days at sea.

First, Majesty is an old ship by modern cruising standards. That said--we were actually incredibly impressed by the shape the boat was in. No, it's Quantum or Oasis. It's not Freedom class. But for a boat that's 25 years old--my expectations were not that high--but Majesty of the Seas exceeded those greatly. Yes, there are areas of the ship that seem out of date. No, Centrum is not the Boardwalk or the Royal Promenade. But I suspect if you wanted that, you would be on those boats. But for the most part, Royal Caribbean has done a good job of getting Majesty at least in the ballpark of much younger ships and Majesty provided us a solid three days of sailing.

We booked an inside cabin and it was very small. For four people, the two pullman beds made bedtime comfortable, but navigation could absolutely be an issue if you are traveling with companions that are older than our kids at 7 and 3. Little bodies do fine in a small cabin, but I suspect if we were traveling with teenagers, an inside cabin would probably be quite cramped. But for what it was, the stateroom was clean and comfortable. The bathroom could give off a SLIGHT sewagey smell, but it was nothing overwhelming or offputting.
