We've never been to the British Isles and we signed up while on a previous cruise. Great ports, mostly: Dover, Edinburgh, Glasgow(ok), Inverness/Loch Ness, Dublin and Guernsey. We did our own touring and did not use the ship excursion. The embarkation was fine, crew was fabulous, food was good, our dining staff(Juan and Leo) were terrific, the ship was immaculate, though a bit worn. Nothing to bother about. Entertainment was good, as well. Nice pools and hot tubs. PROBLEMS: Terrible transportation problems with tendering at Edinburgh and Guernsey. It took 5 hours before we were able to tender off the ship. There must be some problems in communication somewhere. Lots and lots of angry people. Our room was nice, a balcony, 8568. BUT it is directly under the Park Cafe. If you want a quiet room, do not pick this room. Chairs scraping on the tile floor above us began at 6 am and ended after midnight. I would recommend this ship for its great crew and cleanliness, but not on this particular itinerary.

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Located in the middle aft of the ship. Bathtub with shower, one sink. LOTS of drawer space. Relatively new sofa. Needs a magnifying mirror for the ladies. DIRECTLY UNDER THE PARK CAFE. Chairs were scraping across the tile above our room from 6 am to midnight. Bring your ear plugs.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

Love Amsterdam!! Terrific museums, good food and friendly people.

Dover

Visit the underground tunnels and the White Cliffs. So informative

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Very busy city with beautiful architecture and friendly people. Stop in one of the many pubs for a pint!

Greenock (Glasgow)

IF you don't take a shore excursion, you need to take a train(40 min) from Greenock into Glasgow. The cathedral is beautiful. Don't miss it. Easy to get around town.

Dublin

Visit the Guiness museum. I was amazed and pleased. We went to the Merry Ploughboy, had dinner and listened to traditional Irish music by the Merry Ploughboys and saw a 'riverdance" show. Just fabulous. Love the people of Dublin. They certainly will keep you entertained!

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Visit the war tunnels and the nearby beach area. They have built very interesting swimming areas. Located near the Aquarium. Castle is within walking distance as well.

Take a bus around the island. Very reasonable.
