Ship Facts: Carnival Triumph Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Triumph Deck Plans
PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!!
History: My Husband & I just sailed on our 13th cruise. We are both 45. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Holland America and of course Carnival. This was our 5th Carnival cruise but have sailed on the other lines for the past several. Our return to Carnival was great!!! I had previously ranked them lower than the other cruise lines but was pleasantly surprised how on par they are.

Travel to the Pier: We drove from Toronto and this time parked across the river at Weehawkin (Port Imperial) Parking is much more reasonable than at the Pier in New York!! Enjoyed the 10 min Ferry over and very short walk to the Ship.

Embarkation: was fine 30 minutes and we were on the ship

Muster Drill: was the fasted we have ever experienced!!! Way to Go Carnival!!!

The Ship: was very clean, well kept and quite pleasant decor (not tacky) For being ten years old I was quite Impressed!! One negative that many passengers mentioned is you could not get through on some decks from one end to the other, you had to go up or down and across. You do adjust though!!!

The Gym was great and never too busy!

Dining: Excellent, We only ate in the Main Dining Room for Dinner so cannot comment on buffet for Dinner. Service was fast (maybe a little too fast), very friendly and the bar staff after the first night knew exactly what I prefered and brought it to me each dinner. Wonderful. Food was great!! We had prime rib, lobster, other seafood, lamb all of what we ordered tasted great!! Buffet for lunch twice it was fine had lamb & Roast beef We ate lunch twice in the Dining Room on Sea Days We really enjoy this style of dining over buffets Food and Service Terrific!!! 24 hr Pizza was great, Many selections, had that a few times and Room Service was also Excellent and on time

Entertainment: Can only say The Comedians were Hilarious!! Didn't attend the other shows. Have seen so many. Went to a Michael Jackson Tribute, it was great Enjoyed all the Live Music playing in various areas of the Ship. It really makes for an enjoyable holiday!!

Stateroom: We loved it! We booked whats called an inside but for $20 more p/p we had a room with 2 porthole windows Very impressed with the size of the room lots of room to move around there was a leather loveseat and coffee table lots of storage and counter/desk space email if you would like to see a photo I took (venetta@sympatico.ca) Our room was always clean the stewards do a wonderful job and always very pleasant!! My husband was so impressed with the water pressure in the shower. Definately worth looking into when booking!!!

Ports: New Brunswick and Halifax Both were nice Halifax was our favorite enjoyed walking along the boardwalk Its not the Caribbean but quite pleasant Ports.

Disembarkation: The FASTEST EVER!!!! We chose to take all our luggage off ourselves (self assist)they call it. We were off the Ship in 10 min and through customs in 5 min!!!

Overall: A great Holiday Had a Wonderful experience on the Ship and We will definately book another Cruise with Carnival!!

PS Carnival allows 1 bottle of wine or champaign per person at Embarkation Norwegian and Royal Caribbean don't allow any!!! (This, is a Nice Perk!!)
