We wanted to see Sitka, and it was wonderful. However, the excursion we were on couldn't go to one place that was advertised, because it is always closed on Mondays. We asked for, and received a partial refund. The telephone receptionist at the Lotus Spa was inept. The manicure was mediocre. She spent more time trying to sell me face cream than she did on the manicure. We went to dinner one evening, and the waiter served everyone else. I could see my plate sitting in the serving area. The waiter gave everyone their pepper, took a walk, and finally served me. I complained after the meal. Princess gave us a bottle of sparkling wine, which my husband described as the worst he ever tasted. They also gave us chocolate covered strawberries, which were great. There was no beverage service in the Horizon Court - it was serve your own water. As usual, the vegetarian options are limited. They even put steak in the potato salad! Two of our excursions were cancelled, one of which we had to tender to shore to discover was cancelled. The supervisor at the excursion desk was extremely rude when we tried to rebook. I got sick one day, and went to the medical center. After that our cabin steward left wet towels on the floor. For the rest of the cruise he closed the curtains and turned the tv on. The laundry rooms ran out of tokens towards, and you had to stand in line at Passenger Services to get them. Passenger services gave out wrong information. We paid extra for a larger cabin, but got the same size as on our previous cruises. When we got home we both had colds, which from the timing, we believe we caught in Medical Services. This was our third cruise with Princess, and our only bad experience. I would never cruise on the Emerald Princess again.
