We usually pick our cruises based on itinerary. This was our first time in a suite which was an outstanding experience. Also this cruise had much better entertainers than our trip last fall. The staff as usual were helpful and friendly.
I would like to see improvements made to the navigation channel! It is next to useless! The map was always so close up that it was hard to get your bearings . On another ship we had a rotating map that went from distance to enlarged. It should also include air temperature and miles traveled and miles to the next port. It can be done because we have had this information on a Millennium ship previously.
It was also the first time that we booked NON - ship excursions! Using Cruise Critic reviews and Trip Advisor, we chose SPB Tours. They were professional and timely (since my husband was concerned about getting back to the ship on time) had small groups and headsets most of the time. We used SPB for Berlin, St. Petersburg & Helsinki. I honestly think our whole cruise experience was better since we used this tour agency. Last fall we had unsatisfactory ship excursions and were told by other passengers to try Cruise Critic. THANK YOU CRUISE CRITIC!
We were in the aft of the ship. Loved our cabin and didn't feel the ships movement there as we had feared. There was lots of storage and the bathroom was wonderful. Our butler, Orlando, unloaded our mini frig the first day so we could put our own beverages covered by the plan in it! Paz and Orlando added to the wonderful experience.
We chose to walk into town. It was not a scenic walk and we wish we had taken the shuttle provided by Celebrity.
We took the provided shuttle into town. We love Copenhagen and have spent several days touring on our own previously. This time we toured the Christianborg Palace, stables, and went to the top of the tower. It was perfect for a short stay in that city.
We walked into town and wandered around the area. Very cute town. A free tour is provided at the TI in the center of the old town. We did not take it but heard that it was very enjoyable for others. If we ever return, we will take that tour.
WE have spent time in Amsterdam previously! This time, on the day before embarkation, we took a tour to the Keukenhof Gardens and they were fabulous. Yes the lines were long at the airport for the bus transfer but they were very efficient and well worth any wait! We stayed close to Centraal Station and walked to the Cruise Port. After an early check in, we left the ship and walked around the city instead of sitting on board! An easy transfer back to the city on Bus 26.
