We went on The Magic during a very busy time during Memorial Day Week 2017. The ship was very nice, had great amenities and shows. Guys Burgers and Pizza bar where a hit. My Soon to be three year old loved the water works portion of the ship. I Think the staff/management were underprepared for the vast amount of people on the ship. Lines to get food were very long most of the time. Getting on and off the ship as expected with all the passengers was painful at times. Ports of call we had limited amount of time to explore the Islands but where great places to stop. We stopped at Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turks. I would book scheduled dining. The anytime dining had long wait times. The cabins were nice and had plenty of storage for luggage. We booked a cove balcony room 2414. The view close to the water was very nice but I wouldn't advise booking this cabin. It was very noisy due to the kitchen galley above. The noise was all day but seemed to get worse at night. It sounded like someone was dropping bags of bricks all night long. My wife & I didn't rest well the first night and reported the noise to guest services. They stated that they have had noise complaints from that cabin before. We were moved to room 6337 the next day and were given a $50 dollar on board credit. Room 6337 was much better and had no noise issues. We would definitely go on the Magic again but would go during a slower time of year and stay away from cabins below the galley.
Don't book 2414 on the Magic! Very noisy below the galley. Sounded like they were moving furniture all night. Report any noise issues to guest services.
Easy in and out of port. Parking was very expensive. $120 for the week.
Very poor community but beautiful beaches. We took a cab to a nice beach.
We took a cab to secret cove for snorkeling and beach time.
Walked around old San Juan and toured the old fort.
Would advise getting a cab and going away from the beach at the port.
