Sail Date: May 2017

We've cruised with Silversea for more than 19 years because we loved its style, intimate atmosphere an excellent food and service. Of course some things needed technological adjustments and renovation in suite confort and decoration.

Now Silver Muse suits offer world class amenities and decoration. Dining options are more varied. But apparently minor changes, such as the dress code, or the cancellation of the no reservation policy of the main dining room have dramatically changed the ship´s signature style and atmosphere! Now you find in common areas men in black or white tie, along with others with no tie or jacket, ladies in evening dressing gowns, along with others in sport attire, and even some wearing bathrobes on the aisles. You feel over dressed or under dressed, or even ridiculous!

Enrichment lectures were one of the things I enjoyed. Learning about the culture and history about the places you were about to visit from renowned specialists. This time we visited sites with a rich past, such as Bergamo, Troy, or Ephesus and the lecturer was speaking about Frank Sinatra! This was absolutely not an enrichment lecture!

Port Reviews

Athens (Piraeus)

Athens is a place that combines history, culture, famous greek food and picturesque neighborhoods, such as Plaka. The Grand Bretagne Hotel roof garden restaurant offers a magnificent view of the illuminated Acropolis at night

Santorini

The place is wonderful ...when it is sunny. This time it was windy and rainy. Too bad that now it is flooded with tourists.

Kotor

Beautiful town within a fortress! It is better if you walk. The view from the top of the wall is breathtaking! Not too many tourists...yet.

Dubrovnik

Enchanting medieval town! Although it has been rebuilt, it keeps its old flavor. Easy to visit on your own. Good food. Although, too many tourists.

Hvar

Enchanting little island with a beautiful town. Not too many people have discovered this enchanting place.
