There's something to be said for going aboard as a returning passenger. This was our third time sailing on the Carnival Spirit. An Easter cruise was the perfect antidote to the autumn school holiday craziness with my three teenage daughters. Our two previous cruises were longer South Pacific itineraries so the chance to relax for three nights on board was a great idea.

From the moment we arrived at the station at Circular Quay, Sydney the excitement begins. The sight of the big red "Farcus Funnel" on top of the pristine white ship ensures you know you are about to board a Carnival cruise. The refurbished passenger terminal is welcoming and the lines to board are fast moving due to the large numbers of friendly faced staff. In no time we are aboard and heading to our cabin to start our short break. The kids are noticing all the new additions since its last refurb and are impressed by how fresh it all looks.

The beautiful and effervescent dining room Maitre D', Desi, spots us and I can't believe, with all the guests she sees, that she remembers us from our previous cruises. Its a homely touch that cannot be beaten.

Cabin Review

Interior Quad

Cabin 44

This was our first time in an interior cabin and I was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The only time it felt a bit squeezy is when we all trying to get ready for formal night at the same time. Having no window also meant it was easy to sleep in without the sun waking you up too early.
