We have long wanted to see Alaska and this was a convenient Drop-and-Go opportunity. Unfortunately, things were pretty disorganized, starting with a completely chaotic embarkation process in Vancouver. To make things worse, one of us uses a wheelchair and/or cane and can't stand for long periods. This was a nightmare for him. Constant misdirection, no signage, clueless staff members, and a 2-hour wait for a wheelchair to the Coral Princess. Oddly, many wheelchairs were immediately available for boarding the Emerald Princess, but they couldn't be used for Coral Princess px--?

Food was a shade worse than mediocre. The kitchen seems most comfortable with classic American food, simply prepared. Sushi, Mexican, even Indian food were not remotely like the real thing. Ditto for the Bayou specialty restaurant, whose cook had apparently never even seen Louisiana classic dishes, much less tasted them.

In general, the staff were kind and well-meaning, but often uninformed. Getting correct information about where this gangway was located in each port was a major hassle. Everyone we asked had an answer, and most of them were wrong. No useful signage. The exit for people with disabilities was marked "Do Not Enter." We had the impression that many of the staff were very new and not knowledgeable about the ship.
