Sail Date: May 2017

We wanted to dock in Hamilton,Bermuda instead of at the dockyards so chose a small ship. We wanted to go in May for my birthday so the Veendam seemed perfect. It was not perfect. The AC was not working correctly it seemed and it was hot in our cabin and the casino until the return trip. The food in the Lido cafe was awful. It was either too cold or too tough to eat or under cooked. Being a buffett the meat was tough after sitting out any time and the veggies were undercooked . I like my food cooked. The food was always cold and if you had it warmed in the microwave it was then tough especially the meat. Most meats were bloody and undercooked in the Lido. I had a Filet Mignon in the Lido and it was so tough I could not eat it. It you can ruin a Filet then you know the cook is bad! The dining room was better but they served foods many people really do not want to eat. The ship tries so hard to be Gourmet and use fancy chefs that the food turns out to be awful. I have been on 7 cruises before and the Veendam had the worst food ever. But the Crew and everyone were great but it would be nice if the Lido workers knew more English so they could understand when you ask for help warming up your cold meal.

Cabin Review

Cabin Window cabin.

Our cabin was difficult to move around in with 2 people in it due to the way the cabin is layed out.
