This was the second cruise that we have ever been on. Our first cruise was with Carnival last year and it was just a short cruise to Cozumel. We really enjoyed that cruise, but since we are new to cruising, my husband and I wanted to try different cruise lines to see what each had to offer. This was our first cruise with RC and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We had a comparable room on Carnival but found our room on the Liberty to be much roomier and it seemed "brighter". Our room steward was very attentive to our needs and was very polite and friendly. Our waiter, Jordan and his assistant were amazing. They always greeted us by name and quickly learned our preferences and always gave great recommendations. Adam and Kate, the shopping directors, were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and gave us really great recommendations. We enjoyed all of the on-board entertainment, from the comedians to the live musical act, The Long Run (an Eagles tribute band - AMAZING!!!!) The live production of Saturday Night Fever was so entertaining. The casino and bingo were great. On-board trivia activities were always fun. RC even had a 70's disco night in the Promenade the night before the Saturday Night Fever production. RC seemed a little more luxurious than our Carnival Cruise. More of a "grownup" cruise, were Carnival, although fun, seemed more "party oriented". Don't get me wrong, there is a ton of stuff for the kiddos. The Dreamwork characters were always there. Waterslides and pools galore. A kiddie splash pad for the toddlers. A toddler/infant "daycare" room. We just weren't traveling with any children. The shore excursions, with the exception of Cozumel, were incredibly enjoyable. In Cozumel, we used a third party shore excursion company to book our excursion. While the helmet dive was fun, while we were having lunch, the whole island lost power, so we went back to the ship early. No fault to RC of course. We were so pleased with our cruise we booked our next cruise (to Alaska for next year) while still on board the ship. We had no issues with embarkation and disembarkation. Everything went very smoothly.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Great cabin. Very roomy and always very clean. I loved the little extras that our room steward would do, such as making towel animals and incorporating my sunglasses on them.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Were relatively locals to Galveston, (From Houston) so we really didn't spend much time other than driving to the port. Galveston, however, is very beautiful and interesting so for those not familiar with it, I recommend, if you have time. to check out Moody Gardens or Pleasure Pier. Both fun! Also tons of amazing scenery and restaurants.
