We expected better but we enjoyed the vacation anyway. Our first cruise was for our honeymoon in 1972 on the Michaelangelo and there have been many since then. Embarcation at 12:30 was excellent

The ship was well maintained, clean and did not seem crowded considering a sell out. This unless you wanted a seat in the theatre. We hit the rack at 1AM and are up @ 8 so we realy don't care about the cabin. It was well maintained by the steward who provided for our special requests made the day of embarcation. Crew was friendly but not particularly atttentive. Did anybody see much of the cruise director and staff?

Specialty steakhouse was dissapointing. Food was O.k. but the service left much to be desired considering the extra charge. Crumbs left on the table until time for dessert... not good. Biggest complaint.. no wine steward in specialty or Palm restaurant. Can't ask for a suggestion, the ass't waiter takes your order and delivers the bottle within 20 minutes of ordering while he does his other duties. Maitre'D showed up to do a few handkerchief tricks but did not engage. Wine glasses the same for red and white. Glasses filled to the lip if he notices you need a refill. Room temp Pinot Grigio served and then had to be left in the ice bucket to chill. We liked the fact that meals were indicated as vegeterian for those who care about such things.

Cabin Review

Cabin ins

I'm not a cabin nut as we are late to retire and early to rise and spend little time in the cabin. But.... on the CP if you are on the lowest deck in the front of the ship (p339) you will experience something special. If there is any sea you will hear the bow wave smack the bow of the ship and it's not that smooth wave sound you love to hear from your open balcony doors. This sounds like a freight train comming through your cabin about every 45=60 seconds as the bow pitches down. An Ambien and you're O.K. Always, Always midships... we took a guarantee and this cabin was an outside view upgrade.
