My partner and I chose the cruise for the Southern Caribbean itinerary. We absolutely loved 4 of 5 ports visited. I had previously only sailed on Carnival so was dreading disembarkation. No problems here- Royal Caribbean has perfected the process. Dining was probably our favorite part of the whole cruise. Service in the main dining room was top-notch and food was delicious. Adult pool was great too. Our cabin staff did a great job dealing with the mess we made everyday and always greeted us with a smile. Shows were mostly good and we never felt bored. The Marriage Show and the Quest game-show was so funny I was crying laughing. My only big complaint was the smoking in the casino. I had very little patience for being in there too long unable to breathe. Also, breakfast in the Windjammer cafe was nightmarishly crowded on the at-sea days but other than that it was a pleasant experience. We already booked our next cruise with RC to the western Mediterranean and cant wait to cruise with them again.
We thought we'd be claustrophobic in an interior room but we loved our little cave! It was more than adequate for the 2 of us.
We stayed overnight in Old San Juan and followed the walking tours from Lonely planet. We very much enjoyed the old world vibe and the puerto rican food.
Mambo Beach was awesome! Great modern beach party style restaurants and bars. I could stay here all day.
Unfortunately we were not impressed with Curacao. We thought it was relatively unattractive (except for the beach), with oil refineries and pollution a-plenty. We were actually really excited to walk around the old town with the colorful buildings and thought it was dirty and there really wasnt any good shopping- disappointing.
We wish we had more time on this island. Its heaven on earth. Except our tour was supposed to end at Frigate Beach and our tour guide never brought us there.
