Total Bliss (for the most part)

Sail Date: August 2009
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: San Juan

We arrived in Puerto Rico the morning of August 29,2009 a day and a half before our cruise. We checked into the Intercontinetal hotel in Carolina. Our room was not ready but we were able to leave our bags with the bell boys. We went to a restaurant and had lunch which was superb. We were rained in for a while and decided to truck back to the hotel and take a cab.

We were given a room with a city view that had a small balcony, with the doors open we could hear the music coming from below, it was very peaceful. We went to the casino and played a little money then off to the room for a nap. We went to San Juan for a late night stroll and came across a bar for Karoake. We did retire early because we have an early morning.

We rented a car from Avis right in the hotel and went to El Yunque Rainforest we did horseback for 30.00 pp and atvs for 35.00 per person. It was so beautiful and we had tons of fun. The company we used was hacienda carrabli its the best bang for More your buck. the ship charges almost 125.0 to 150.00 pp to do either excursion.

We checked in on the boat around 5pm the line was a breeze. We brought on a bottle of wine, and 2 bottles of rum. Our room Steward IMade was spectacular he asked our names as soon as we boarded and after that we were addressed by name. upon embarkation and leaving Puerto Rico it rained so we were in the casino all night. Inengah our waiter in the Pacific Dining room awesome, very polite man.

Back in puerto rico when it the ship was docked and ready to de board this is where Carnival lost the most points with us. Unorgnized deboarding process. They give out numbers so you can deboard the ship and go through customs. After 10am your asked to leave your room. We stayed in ours because our number was 27 we got a phone call after 7 knocks at different times stating we need to leave so room service could clean. They leave you with no where to go but deck 5. They close out food by 8:30. I cruised on NCL before and they allowed you to leave whenever before 11am breakfast was open all morning. We were supposed to be off the ship by 12 we didnt get off the ship until 2pm. It was the worst sitting there. We took the shuttle thru Carnival and its more expensive 15 pp and you have to tip 2.00 per bag. From the airport to the terminal cost us 19.00 and 1.00 per bag. When we got to the airport the USDA line was a half mile away from our terminal. We printed out our boarding passes and then headed to the USDA line which for a blesing had only one person in front of us. AA has a bag drop line where if you have to check your bags you just hit that line and go. it took 20 minutes to get through.

WE ATE AT THE AIRPORT PLAYA DE SOL.... Runaway from this place. Not only is the food priced extremely high its not good. It reheated and not freshed everything is served in stirofoam and plastic. Cooked food burns holes through styrofoam. We paid 47.00 to not eat half of our food and be dissappointed. We should have went to Dominoes and had pizza that we know what to expect. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Victory Interior Main 2438

We had an inside cabin on deck 2. With the rocking because of the tropica storms late night it was horrible. We stayed on deck 6 or 7 with NCl and never knew we were sailing. on deck 2 we heard the churning of motors and we knew when we docked and left because of the noise factor we would have to turn the volume all the way up.

Port and Shore Excursions

St.kitts- we did the zip line 70.00 pp best money spent you zip line 5x and each line is different. We did sky safari zip lines. they also offer the Sea trek similar to the boss for 70.00 half of what we paid in st thomas. The guides were nice and very funny.

St. Lucia- we planned the volcanic experience and mud bath but that was cancelled. A couple of people in our group went to the beach and did jet skis.

St. Thomas- Boss underwater was pushed up due to low particpants. The boss is amazing it comes with snorkeling so dont bother with buying a snorkeling excusrion if you do this one its a 2 in 1. We were scheduled to do the Skyride but it conflicted with the boss
