So let me start by saying that I never really wanted to go on a cruise. I've heard about other people's experiences and assumed it wasn't my "thing". Too crowded, I might get sick, sounded a lot like Las Vegas, food would be poor quality, dining rooms would be crowded, etc. However, I decided that I wanted to finally take a chance and try it at least once! My husband had been on several in the past and thought there was a 50/50 chance it would go either way! I picked Liberty of the Seas because we could save on the airfare and drive to Galveston from Austin.

Las Vegas feel for sure, quiet areas can be found, but party atmosphere in most common areas. We like to have fun but not crazy about hanging out with a bunch of loud drunk people!! And the smoking...really people!? Hard liquor and cigerrettes were sold everywhere, but only one small wine bar that was almost empty on many nights.

Food in free dining areas was really not great, upscale restaurants that come with an additional fee is the way to go. Buy the packages! Mexican restaurant was our favorite, but all were very good.

Small but laid out well. Clean! Steward Joel was excellent!
